Best summer 2026 experience: Visiting friends and family in Virginia and getting a chance to bring both kids to my alma mater - The University of Virginia.
Favorite social media platform: Instagram
What made you interested in PR?: My path into public relations began at the University of Virginia, where I competed in track and cross country while developing a passion for advancing women's health. An internship with Women’s Health Virginia introduced me to media relations and the power of storytelling, confirming that public relations was a career I wanted to pursue. During my senior year, I took a chance by leaving a track meet to interview for a New York internship, ultimately becoming the first intern at the agency to secure a client placement in Seventeen magazine. That opportunity launch would become a 15 year career in New York communications.
What current PR trend piques your interest?: PR for the AI search era. At the core, earned media has always been about reaching the right audience and gaining credibility, but with AI entering the chat, we have another layer to consider. More and more people are turning to AI tools for inquiries, the stories we secure for our clients help shape what information surfaces in those results. This means it’s not just about who sees the story when it publishes, but we have to also consider how that earned media coverage may show up in search and influence what large language models, or LLMs, understand and ultimately surface about a brand over time. For PR teams, that makes consistent, authoritative earned media even more important.

What made you interested in Marketing?: Starting in high school, I had to complete a month-long internship called May Program to graduate. As a teen, I loved watching the cable channel E! and saw Paco Underhill, the founder of the company Envirosell, which studies shoppers’ behavior, was featured. I was intrigued especially from a psychological point of view and immediately reached out to them for my May Program and after much persistence they agreed to bring me on board then invited me back the following summer.
I thought of going to business school to study advertising, but ultimately decided to attend Wellesley College and study psychology focusing on classes that are adjacent to advertising like Nonverbal Communication, Personality, Cultural Psychology and Psychology of Gender. In my senior year of college I had an internship at an advertising agency and by the end of the internship knew I wanted to work in the industry. After graduation, I landed my first job at the same agency as an Assistant Media Planner working on the Volkswagen account where we applied research to determine their advertising budget allocation. It was a fun, fast-paced environment and I enjoyed seeing our teams’ placements in real life, while being able to track their results!
What current Marketing trend piques your interest?: Rebuilding consumer trust. The uptick in AI-generated content is causing consumers to be more skeptical of what they see online. While this savviness is being honed in real-time, brands have the opportunity to rebuild trust with authentic content led by emotional intelligence. It will be interesting to see which companies break through the AI algorithm by amplifying real moments led by storytelling.
